I can see frequent posts falling by the wayside as the weather gets nicer and we temporarily "move" outside. We have been taking full advantage of the weather by going to parks, taking walks and having daily picnics for lunch and sometimes dinner outside. I love that grilling season is back! We've been grilling a ton...salmon, burgers, chicken...I love it! Owen gets himself so worn out that he has been taking 3 1/2-4 hour naps and sleeping 11 1/2 hours at night! I feel like I have 2 infants with all the sleeping going on!
Baby Aves is growing so fast and making more and more fun sounds and noises..."I" and "oh" are the new ones...Owen thinks she knows his name. She loves being outside too and is in her glory watching all that goes on outdoors. I love that she will smile on demand now...it's the best when you know it's a real smile and not just gas!
We were playing the other day and Owen was getting ready to mow the yard and I told him he needed to gas up first, thinking he would pretend to put gas in his little mower. I should have known better. He went right to the shed, got out Ryan's big gas can (not really a can, cause it's plastic, but you get the idea) and proceeded to fill 'er up! He thinks it's just hilarious that I call him "mini-Ryan".
Tonight Ryan and I are going to a hospitality dinner with 3 other couples from church...our first outing without either of the kids. Owen is pretty psyched to go over to Bobby and Jojo's house (my aunt and uncle) and feed (and he thinks play with) the horses. Avalyn will probably be held & spoiled the entire time. It'll be nice to have a couple hours of good food and adult conversation. So, until next time...
Oh, 1 more thing...if anyone has a really great grilling idea or recipe, let me know...it's not even May and I feel like I'm already repeating meals.

Sounds like you are the grilling expert! I only recently tried fish. Although I do have an amazing salmon recipe for the grill.
Hannah loves the photo of Avalyn. She asked me if she really smiles now. I think it is because every time Hannah sees her she is sleeping.
As for the gas did you explain to Owen that gas prices are so high he needs to mow as quickly as possible. We have a pretend pump at our house and I am always trying to stress the price of gas. The kids could really care less since all you have to do is get more money at the bank. I want to know what bank they use!!

Cute pics. We live outside all the time here too.. somedays I long for a season other than "summer" though. :) I don't think I have your email but we grill a couple times a week so I can send you a bunch. :)

Avalyn is getting so big! I called Kristen today to see about visiting. I love the pictures of Owen in the yard. I can totally see the one of him intently mowing the yard ending up in a graduation or wedding slide show some day!
